Home Again…..

Sorry for the no updates this past week. It has been BUSY!!! As you all know Jaxson was admitted to ACH for 7 days with fluid overload. It took a while but his meds were sorted out and his body got back to normal.

Jaxson was discharged last wednesday and he has been doing great at home! His breathing is still a tad fast, but that will take a while to normalize. Jaxson had bloodwork and a follow up on monday, and everything looked great!!

We had a lovely weekend, despite the cold, crappy weather we had. That gross weather was actually good for us, because it forced us to stay inside and get things done around the house. Jaxson is VERY VERY quickly growing out of his bassinet, which is putting the pressure on to get a nursery in order for him. I was not overly excited about tackling this project for a couple of reasons. First off, his room was filled with boxes from the move, which meant unpacking and getting rid of everything. Second, the thought of him not being in our room is a tad sad for me. However, once the paint started to be rolled onto the walls I got really excited about creating a nice relaxing baby space for him (and us) and I got creative with the painting. We will be ordering the furniture really soon and I will post pictures of the finished product.

I am VERY proud to report that Jaxson is developmentally doing great! Seeing as he was restricted to no ‘tummy time’ for 6 weeks post surgery, we were a little worried on how much that will delay his head control and rolling…..

Turns out it hasn’t held him back at all!! Yesterday he rolled from his back to his front all by himself! We are really excited to start occupational therapy with him right away so we can get working on all of the other important baby skills.

Now for the BIGGEST news of all! Let’s see if you can spot it…..

THE NG TUBE IS OUT!!!! YIPEE!!!!! Today marked the end of the 6 weeks that Jax had to be on that disgusting formula. Alex pulled the NG tube this morning, and he has been inhaling his bottles like nobodies business. GOOD JOB LITTLE MAN!! Now that he actually has to ‘work’ for his food, maybe those Michelin Man arms will go down in size 😛

Seriously this baby is the cutest thing ever, my heart can’t handle it!!!
